Engineering Analysis
SNR Test
To test our electrode's signal acquisition capabilities, we conducted a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) test. SNR is used to compare the desired signal to the level of background noise.
Frequency and Amplitude Response Test
To observe how our flexible electrode responds to varying frequencies and amplitudes, we had the same experimental set up as the SNR test, only this time, we ran a current through the system with varying frequencies and amplitudes
Bend Test
We also conducted a bending test by 3D printing cylinders of different radii and do surface characterization of the electrode to ensure that it is still viable
The paint electrode (left) is wrapped around a half inch diameter cylinder and is flush against the surface. The gel electrode (right) is wrapped around a 1 inch diameter cylinder and is already lifting at the edges
Sweat Test
The electrode is stable to artificial sweat in non-functional conditions
